Senior Amanda Parker
Cross Country '07 - Amanda is in her first season of cross country. She has been North's leading runner in every meet. Amanda placed 11th at the Hockomock League Championships and was selected to the All-Hock Team. She placed 24th in the JR-SR race of the State Coaches Invitational and has run a 5K PR of 20:46 on two different courses. Amanda enters the State Meet poised to improve on that time.

Spring Sports :

'07 -

'06 - Amanda was the top 400M runner and starred in both the 4X400 and 4X800M. She placed 5th in the 400M at the Division 2 Meet. The 4X800M team set a school record and made it to the New England Championship where they placed 7th. Amanda ran lead-off with a 2:22. split.

'05 - Amanda had an outstanding freshman season, leading her class in points scored.

She was a member of the freshman 4X400M that broke the school frosh record numerous times. In the Hockomock League Championship she placed in the 400M and was a member of the winning 4X400M relay, thus attaining her first All-Hockomock recognition. At the Rocket Relays she stepped up in distance and was part of the 4X800M relay that smashed a school record that stood since 1986!

Winter Sports :

'07 Indoor Track - Amanda became the #2 600M runner in NA history. She also qualified for state competition in the 1000M. She ran on the 800M and 400M relays. At the Class B Relays she was a member of the winning sprint medley team that set the school record. She was also on the 4x400M team that broke the school record multiple times and placed 7th in the state finals. She was elected as an indoor track captain for '08.

'06 Indoor Track - Amanda was the team's top runner in the 600M and ran legs on both the 4X400 and 4X800M teams.

Academic Resume : Amanda is a high honors student who excels in biology and geometry.
Hobbies : Writing, playing flute in the concert/marching band, running, reading and listening to music.
Life Goals : To work in the science/math field, get a parrot when she has her own house (so she can teach it to talk), and to raise a family in said house.
Favorite Saying : "If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You have another chance!"
Favorite Song : "Some Fantastic" by Barenaked Ladies and "Accidentally in Love" by the Counting Crows
Favorite Food : chocolate and greek food (note : hopefully not together)
Family : Amanda shares her house with parents Paula and Steve, younger sister Vanessa, and most importantly, a cat named Coco.
Coach's Comments : Amanda brings great maturity to her running. Her best performances come when most needed. Over the years her progression has been steady. Her biggest attributes are her willingness to try new events and the always present smile. Whether a hard workout or a big race, Amanda finds enjoyment in the challenge.
