Walk - Hatch's Harbor to Herring Cove |
Arlene
has accompanied me on all ten walks this year |
This
is the upland side of Hatch's Harbor dike at low tide |
Looking
across the lower side of Hatch's Harbor with fishermen parked at the inlet |
Even
the sea pickle turns color this time of year |
Approaching
the harbor entrance |
The
entire entrance is littered with old debris. Notice how clear rhe water
is. |
I
cross over the entrance at low tide and am now covering new ground. Race
Point Light is in the background. I had to time this walk correctly since
at high tide the water would be over my head. |
With
the ocean to the left and the inner trench of Hatch's Harbor to the right,
you can tell that I'm getting a significant distance away from Race Point
Light |
Remarkably,
for an hour we kept pace as this sailboat had to beat into the wind. |
Arlene
crosses the second opening and you can see the Herring Cove parking lot
in the distance. |
