“a day of practice”

It was a kind of fall day, you know, a bit chilly, but when the air has this crisp freshness to it. The team gathered to attack yet another day of grueling practice. Only after a meet, resulting in a victory, did all the hard work seem to pay off. The team was small and family-like in manner. It’s the type of team where everyone gets along. You might say we share something special no other team can. Concealed are it’s memories of hard work, but most of all the fun times that are shared.
Each day is different as was today. So we set out on our jaunt, an easy two miles, it was the day before a meet. We are relaxed, it is the perfect fall day. In groups of two or three we tell of days episodes, of scoops with guys, big tests we’ve had or anything else we might really like to share. Our coach is bored, he decides to go spy, not really to check on us but to just watch. Some of us are boring and just go about our business or others are more carefree of the day and take a little time to play. While waiting to cross a street one might jog in place and another may just tap a foot in rhythm. Little do we know our spy is off in the distance chuckling to himself of what a fun bunch we are!!
