Entering the race hoping to break 21 minutes for the Franklin Park course, Jenna Banks did all of that and more as she blasted a 20:16 to record NA's best time since the fall of 1996. Senior captain Banks ran her best ever 5K with PR splits at every mile mark. Most impressive was her position relative to athletes she had already run against, dramatically narrowing the gap to two runners who had beaten her in the first race of the year.
Sophomore Sara Krasney also showed she liked the course by running her lifetime PR for this distance.
Sophomore Katie Noll continued to show steady progress with her 25:05.
Three NA runners were on the course for the first time.
In the varsity race Marrah Fry (junior transfer) posted a 23:14 and Djerica Lamousnery ran 29:52. Lamousnery is more known as a 55M hurdler and is in just her third race of cross country. Despite the fact that it was her first course with any hills, DJ broke 30 minutes for the first time.
The third was North's lone entry in the freshman race. Katie Czepiel placed 35th in the 1.9 mile race with a 13:56.
