300M
A very solid showing of the future for the Hock in this event. Emily Broyles and Jen Esposito went 2 nd and 8 th on Sunday. Add to that Sarah Soloman (FR-JR-9 th -43.66), Kayla McKinsey (OA-SO-13 th -43.78), and Samantha Kroll (NA-SO-23 rd -44.47) and that gives you both a present and a future.

600M
The big story here is the super effort by Becky Galasso (FR-SR). It looks like she's ready to define her career after a sparkling 1:39.47. The Hock has no shortage of athletes fighting for Hock points. It will be a deep field as the list below attests. Anna Dominesey (MN-12 th -1:44.81) and Hillary Bushway (KP-19 th -1:45.72) are also seniors trying to fight off the pack one last time.
Alison Hickey who would be near the top of that group (OA-SR) was DQ'd.

1000M
This year might be the deepest the Hock has ever been in 1000M talent. Hhannon Hickey (OA-SO-10 th -3:10.81), Lauren Columbare (MN-JR-12 th -3:11.05) were followed by three more girls at 3:17. 3:17 used to be a sure thing at Hocks to place, but might just be the entry standard into the seeded heat.

Mile
Senior Cassie Olson (MN) dropped to the mile for speed and dropped a time that would make her one of the event favorites. Her 2 nd place 5:20.97 bodes well for her likely return to the deuce at Hocks. Youngsters Kristina (FX-SO-17 th -5:33.37) and Alley Harbour (NA-FR-18 th -5:33.47) threw down great early career times. But that's the Hock for you.

I listed all top-6 athletes so you could see how competitive Matt Hernan (MN-SR-3 rd -4:34.09) and Andrew Hood (FR-SO-4:36.82) were. Both made it to the medal stand. The Hock is flush with sophomore distance talent and Hood showed his name can be mentioned as one of them.

Two Mile
“How low can you go?” was the famous intonation of The Limbo Rock. In this case it applies to some athletes closing in on barriers that define a high school career.
Lauren Gallagher (OA-JR-13 th -12:12.43) and Deirdre Simms (ST-SO-16 th -12:16.35) are closing in on a sub-12.

Diddo for fast-improving Nick O'Leary who was 7 th in 10:09.71. That's another solid PR for O'Leary and sets him up for the run at sub-10.
