Some weeks it is easy to craft my thoughts into a message that I'd like to pass on to my readers. This week doesn't fall into that category.

The truth is that I have to use this forum to pass on a message to some of my past athletes and fellow coaches.

I was recently informed that I am being inducted into the MSTCA Coaches Hall of Fame on March 19th. That is great news for me because it will give me the opportunity to recognize all of those people (you people) who made the North Attleboro track and field program one that is recognized beyond the boundries of the Hockomock League.

I am proud of what we together have accomplished and the values upheld during that process. That an organization would seek to honor me is only possible because the sum of everything done by our program is deemed deserving - and that reflects more appropriately upon everyone involved.

Before I go any deeper into my thoughts on this subject, let me just say that I will be including my induction speech on this site the week after the award ceremony. I can only hope that it can clearly convey my appreciation for all everyone has done. I was going to say - what everyone has done to make this day possible. But of course, this isn't why we did it. Only those who spent seasons with us truely knows what we did together, and why.

I am taking this time in an attempt to reach those who I may not be in direct contact with, because I wouldn't want to inform you after the fact. You gave NA the best of what you had and there is no statute of limitations on my thanks.

Many who have already heard the news have written to me, some including short stories recounting memorable moments. That prompts me to initiate a new section entitled - "Revisit the Past".

In this section I will recount some of my favorite stories of the past - many that get recounted on a yearly basis. If you have a favorite story, I'd love to add it to the list.

Congrats go to:

TyLynn Graham for her New England Championship in the high jump on Friday night.

Ditto to Shanika Pitts (OA) for bringing honor and another NE title to the Hockomock League.

Janet Pailes who just competed in the ECAC meet 4X800M for URI on Saturday.

SIL Matthew Taylor for the success of his athletes at the ICAAAA meet at BU this weekend.

Gary Gardner for another incredible season at UML. It was good to see him on Saturday.

I think I have some great stories to relate soon. Stay tuned.
